The BrainProt Community

A platform to learn, collaborate, and spread knowledge on neuroscience

Have you ever wondered how our brains are so capable of storing insurmountable information and which part of the brain is responsible for such activity? How do all proteins present in our brain interact with each other which results in all physiological functions as well as our thoughts? and how a simple mutation can significantly alter a protein to cause neurodegenerative diseases.

We here at Brainprot community welcome you to join us in the quest of gaining knowledge on problems that have baffled neuroscientists to date.

The Brainprot is the brainchild of Prof. Sanjeeva Srivastava, along with his Ph.D. student Mr. Deeptarup Biswas who had begun this venture in November 2018. Gradually the project took shape as we see it today. Contributions from talented undergrads of IIT-Bombay made way for the release of the First version of BrainProt. Then students started joining in from all over the country and the world to make this a success. Even the pandemic couldn't deter us in establishing this project. Brainprot community consists of all those individuals whose dedication, passion and consistent efforts have culminated in the release of the latest version of Brainprot(https://brainprot.org).

Here, in the Brainprot community blog, we shall be discussing proteomics and related omics field in the domain of neuroscience. The articles posted shall talk about the importance of omics in neuroscience and their role in clinical applications. Furthermore, we shall also be discussing the work of eminent neuroscientists. Additionally, since it is a platform for learning, we are not restricted only to omics but are open to debates, and discussions on any novel research that is published in neuroscience.

Hope you enjoy your stay with us. Happy navigating through the brain!!
